1) Bone Meal

a) Definition

It should be derived from the same animal species, and animal bones that have been infected with disease or deteriorated should not be used. Antioxidants and preservatives can be added to feed additives; relevant requirements can be found in the "Catalogue of Feed Additive Varieties" and the "Specifications for the Safe Use of Feed Additives".


b) Appearance and Properties

Light grayish-brown to light yellowish-brown powder, odorless and free of foreign matter.


c) Specification Index

Chicken Bone Meal: The total phosphorus should be ≥5%, the calcium content should be ≥10%, and the crude ash content should be 30%~40%. Other physicochemical indicators of chicken bone meal and other bone meal should meet the requirements of below Table.

2) Meat and Bone Meal

a) Definition

It should be derived from the same animal species. Except for unavoidable cross-contamination, hooves, horns, animal hair, feathers, leather, and digestive contents should not be added. Animal tissues from animals that have contracted diseases or contain prohibited substances should not be used. Antioxidants and preservatives can be added as feed additives; relevant requirements can be found in the "Catalogue of Feed Additive Varieties" and the "Specifications for the Safe Use of Feed Additives".

b) Appearance and Properties

Yellow to yellowish-brown powder, odorless and free of foreign matter.
